Dr. Xin Sun is Senior Lecturer in Chinese and East Asian Business at the Lau China Institute and King’s Business School, King’s College London. His research examines the relations between politics and business in China’s real estate, industrial and technology sectors. His work has been published widely in leading academic journals.

Before joining King’s, Dr. Sun was a Career Development Fellow at Saïd Business School and St Edmund Hall, University of Oxford (2016–2017), and an Assistant Professor at Trinity College Dublin (2014–2016). He holds a doctorate in political science from Northwestern University in Chicago and a bachelor’s degree from Peking University.

Dr. Sun is a frequent commentator for media outlets such as the BBC, The Economist, and Reuters. He also speaks at industry and business conferences and advises public and private sector organisations on political and economic issues in China
