Professor William Overholt

William Overholt is an expert on Asia and a Senior Research Fellow at the John F. Kennedy School of Government’s Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government at Harvard University. He is also a Principal of AsiaStrat. Throughout his career, William has analysed Asia for both the public and private sector.

He was formerly a Director of the RAND’s Center for Asia Pacific Policy and Head of Strategy & Economics at Nomura Research Institute. William was also a Director at Hudson Institute Research Services from 1971 to 1979.

He has served as an advisor to numerous political figures in Asia as well as consulted on projects for the Philippine Department of Agrarian Refore, the Korea Development Institute and Thailand’s Ministry of Universities.

He has published nine books, almost all with a focus on Asia.
