Tom Gregg

Tom Gregg is a former Senior U.N, Official, mediator, advisor with more than twenty years of experience working in conflict zones and politically sensitive environments across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.

His work has included leading humanitarian access negotiations with non-state armed groups, leading hostage-recovery negotiations, and directing sensitive political back channel engagement in conflict settings on behalf of governments (Norway, U.S.), the United Nations, the World Health Organization, and the Gates Foundation.

He previously served as a senior UN official and lived in Afghanistan (2005 - 2009) as Head of the UN’s Southeast region, overseeing access, negotiations, and field operations in active conflict areas. He later served as Senior Advisor to the UN’s Under Secretary General, focusing on humanitarian diplomacy and negotiated access in security-compromised environments. These roles required sustained engagement with political leaders, armed actors, and international partners during periods of instability and crisis.

In addition to his work with Dragoman, Tom currently serves as Senior International Advisor to Kessler Topaz Meltzer & Check, one of the world’s leading plaintiff-side law firms, supporting the firm’s global relationships and strategic outreach across Australia, Asia, Europe, and the United States. Alongside this role, he works through The Consilient, a private advisory practice focused on conflict resolution and dialogue for universities, families and corporate leadership teams.

He also serves on the panel at PADRE, a leading U.S.-based mediation and arbitration group. He is a member of the President’s Leadership Council at Search for Common Ground, the world’s largest peacebuilding organization.
