Lady Roslyn Morauta
Roslyn Morauta is a permanent resident of Papua New Guinea and has lived in the country for more than forty years.
Roslyn has extensive experience in both the private and public sectors in Papua New Guinea. She has worked in the PNG National Planning Office, as an adviser in the Department of Finance, undertaken consultancy management with (then) Coopers & Lybrand, and now manages her family’s business interests. She has close knowledge of development policy, global health policy, PNG government policy and practice, the PNG health system, the PNG economy and private sector, and the environment for investment.
Roslyn has an extensive network of contacts at all levels in both the public and private sectors in Papua New Guinea.
In addition to running the family business interests, Roslyn is involved in voluntary community work and serves as a Director on a number of boards. Her voluntary work, mostly focussed on Health and HIV issues in the country and region, began when she was First Lady of PNG, and has intensified in the years since. She was Chair of the PNG Country Coordinating Committee for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria, representing the private sector, from 2008 to 2019.
In 2019 Roslyn was appointed as Vice Chair of the Board of the Global Fund, and in 2023 she was appointed as Chair of the Board. This important role involves oversight of the operations of the Fund, which raised US$15.7 billion in 2022 for its current funding cycle, the biggest ever funding replenishment of a global health institution; regular consultations with board members, donors (public and private) to the Global Fund, technical partners, governments of the 100 plus countries receiving Global Fund grants and implementing partners from government and civil society.
