Hajime Ito was a Senior Advisor to the CEO of Japan Petroleum Exploration Company (JAPEX).

He was previously a Board Member and President for Americas & Russia Project Division of JAPEX. During this role, he was responsible for planning and executing oil and gas projects in the Americas and Russia.

Before joining JAPEX, Ito was President of the New York Center of the Japan External Trade Organization and Deputy Director-General for Global Environment Affairs in the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan. In the Ministry, he headed various policy fields such as environment, energy, and international trade.
