Brendan Berne is former Australian ambassador to France (2017-20) and to APEC (2015). From 2016-17 he was Chief of Staff to then Trade and Investment Minister Steve Ciobo. He started his career as an economist with the Reserve Bank of Australia. He now lives in France where he continues to work on deepening France-Australia ties.
