Anna Rabin is a political risk advisor who blends her skills in managing and executing strategic mandates with operational knowledge in the mining sector in East Africa. She is currently the Managing Director of Above Ground Advisory, an extractives focused consultancy headquartered in Tanzania.

In her previous role, Anna ran stakeholder engagement for a mining exploration firm with assets in Tanzania and Australia. Prior to this, Anna led Dragoman’s Africa & Middle East practice. At Dragoman, she worked with clients to provide bespoke political, commercial and strategic advice.

She has experience developing country entry, exit, and monitoring strategies – including competitor analysis, providing business intelligence, scenario planning and advice around engagement with government, the public sector and multilateral organisations.

Anna has also worked as a Senior Consultant with africapractice, a strategy and communications consultancy, based in its Tanzanian office. At africapractice, Anna was responsible for leading projects across East Africa and managing a team of consultants advising some of the largest investors in the region in sectors such as oil and gas, mining, power, telecommunications, agriculture, financial services and the construction industry.
