Andrew Liveris AO - Chairman of International Advisory Board

Andrew Liveris AO is a Director at numerous multinational organisations including IBM, Saudi Aramco, Lucid Motors, and Worley (Deputy Chairman). He is also the President of the Board for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organising Committee, Chairman of The Hellenic Initiative, and an advisory board member for Salesforce, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Teneo, and NEOM.

Previously, Andrew served as Chairman and CEO of the Dow Chemical Company, and Executive Chairman of DowDuPont. Over 42 years at Dow, his tenure as CEO was the longest for a non-family member.

Andrew has been appointed by three US administrations to help identify new ways to spur innovation, revitalise the US manufacturing sector, and drive economic growth and prosperity. He served as Co-Chair of US President Obama’s Advanced Manufacturing Partnership steering committee and a member of his President’s Export Council. He was Chair of the Trump Manufacturing Council and a member of the Apprenticeship of the Future task force. Under President Biden, he was Co-Chair of the Build Together Coalition, which supported the US$1.2 trillion Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.

Andrew was a Special Advisor to the Australian National COVID-19 Coordination Commission, and is a Trustee for both the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology and the United States Council for International Business.

He is the author of Make it in America (2011) and Leading Through Disruption (2023). In 2018, the Liveris Academy for Innovation and Leadership was established at the University of Queensland for students to garner a real-life understanding of global challenges and how to create positive change for society. Andrew was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia for his contributions to international business.
